Hall of Honour
- The Hall of Honour showcases our yearly honourees as well as Alumni Honour Society inductees.
- On display we also have a number of artifacts and memorabilia from the early years of the U of L, including the original university coat of arms and shield.
- The university has had a coat of arms since its founding in 1967, but was never formally given status. This orginal version was created by Don Matisz (BaSc (BA) ’68). For the full story about the design process click here.
- The older version is visible in the right hand case, while the updated version can be seen in the middle display. The current iteration was unveiled in 2012, and has been designed to reflect signature elements of the U of L.
- The U of L ceremonial mace is also on display. The mace is used by the chief marshal of the academic procession for convocation ceremonies. It represents the institutions ability to grant diplomas, degrees, and certificates.
