- Look for the decal for this point by the entrance for the viewing gallery for the Max Bell Pool.
- Opened in 1985, with the official opening taking place in 1986, this facility was named to honour the centre’s major benefactor of the Max Bell Foundation.
- Originally the university was looking for government funding to upgrade the library facilities, but they were only given the funding in exchange for the building of the more community focused pool facility.
- Home to the LA Swim Club, Synchrobelles, Dive Club, as well as the Pronghorn Swim Teams. Community based lessons and open swim lanes also take advantage of the space.
- The facility is Olympic sized pool length wise, but not wide enough to host official events. It has a water capacity of 3.5 million litres with adjustable depths to suit whatever needs are required.
- The Pool viewing area is a favorite study (and napping) spot for students.
