- Opened in January 2007 in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the University of Lethbridge.
- The building is named in recognition of 1st Choice Saving Centre and their support.
- Attracts thousands of students, faculty, and community members every year, including thousands of people on Play Day (held each year on Family Day) alone.
- Has a triple gymnasium, retractable seating for 2000 spectators, expanded fitness area with indoor 200 metre track, multi-purpose studios and a climbing wall.
- University started out with basketball, volleyball, wrestling, badminton, judo and curling teams. These first teams were known as the Bobcats and Bobkittens, being changed temporarily to the Chinooks before becoming known as the Pronghorns in 1971.
- Women’s basketball gave the U of L first national title in 1971, known then as the Chinooks.
- Men’s hockey national championship in 1994, coached by now Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock.
- Horns athletes have represented the U of L internationally and at the Olympics; Ashley Steacy and Kayla Moleschi (rugby), Jim Steacy and Heather Steacy (track and field)
- Last fall, University hosted the Canada West Rugby Championship, and will host the 2017 the CIS Women’s Rugby Nationals this year.
