The first one is located to the left as you are walking towards the LINC building and highlights the Buffalo statue.<\/li>\n<li>In 1982, University of Lethbridge alumnus Reed Spencer, who was a student at the time, crafted \u201cThe Buffalo\u201d in an art class.<\/li>\n<li>Students were asked to create something that related to the history of the area that would stand up in the environment.<\/li>\n<li>Spencer and a friend placed the statue\u00a0on a coulee to the south of University Hall during the night, fully expecting that they would be asked the next day to come and take it down.<\/li>\n<li>However, faculty and staff of the University raised $450 to buy the sculpture from Reed and \u201cThe Buffalo\u201d has been a permanent fixture ever since.<\/li>\n<li>Reed Spencer was inducted into the Alumni Honour Society in 2016.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=&#8221;in_container&#8221;
