1. “Dr.” should precede the name of faculty members with PhDs (on first reference) and honorary degree recipients
Example: Dr. Mike Mahon

2. Hyphenate titles where necessary and place the area of specialty in brackets.
Example: Nancy Walker, vice-president (Finance and Administration)

3. Use brackets not commas for titles.
Example: Vice-President (Finance & Administration) Nancy Walker …

4. Don’t use titles after the first reference. From the second reference on, sources should only be identified by their last names.

5. Don’t use quotation marks or italics to identify books, plays, magazines, TV shows, songs, films etc. Just capitalize the principal words.
Example: The Taming of the Shrew, In Flanders Fields, CBC’s World at Six, 24 Days in Brooks.
