{"id":49,"date":"2011-04-19T18:00:18","date_gmt":"2011-04-19T18:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.ulethbridge.ca\/surquhart\/?page_id=49"},"modified":"2026-01-21T14:18:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-21T21:18:19","slug":"interests","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.ulethbridge.ca\/surquhart\/interests\/","title":{"rendered":"Interests"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>LANGUAGES<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong>Spanish<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Having spent in Spain over the years, I am big fan of this country and the Spanish language.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>I continue to work on it, as much as I can by watching television, films in Spanish on top of listening to music and the radio.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>German<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Ich habe fast alles vergessen!&#8221; &#8211; After spending a summer working in a bakery in Bavaria during the summer of 1996, my German is unfortunately very poor.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><hr \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>TRAVEL\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><strong>Countries visited<\/strong> : USA, Mexico, Panama, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Scotland, England, Ireland, Tunisia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><strong>Future Destinations<\/strong>: Argentina, Peru, Vietnam, China, New Zealand<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><hr \/>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>ARTS<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0I thoroughly enjoy going to a movie or play. I am obviously partial to films from Quebec, France, Spain and Japan.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>We have tickets to orchestra performances in Lethbridge.<\/li>\n<li>I continue to work away on the bagpipe changer in hopes of wearing my kilt more.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444;font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif;line-height: 1.5\">I have a particular penchant for the Arts and Crafts, Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444;font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif;line-height: 1.5\">I love curry, sushi and pinot noir.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>SPORTS<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong>Tennis<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444;font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif;line-height: 1.5\">I am an avid tennis player and fan !
