PIECES BY: MALA VIRK

I thought I could fix what was broken.
Be a hand to mend cracks and seams,
But in my search for healing
I lost myself within the dreams.

You came to me with fragile trust,
A tender, quiet plea.
I tried to soothe the storm inside,
But ended up losing me.

I held you close, I gave you space;
A balance I could never find.
You asked for help to heal your heart,
And I left pieces of mine behind.

In trying to save what once was whole,
I learned healing exhausts a heavy toll.
Now here I stand, with love turned blind,
The one who tried,
Yet lost her mind.
