A FLOWER OF LITTLE CONSEQUENCE By Eden Stelter

I am a person of little consequence!
My heart rejoices to recall
That I am as free as a wildflower,
Ever lovely, ever small.

I have learned that I am ordinary,
With no grandeur to my claim,
Yet I may boldly behold the stars,
Radiant ones each crowned with a name.

Ephemeral is my life, although
Its smallness shimmers, ethereal gleams,
With glory promised like the dawn
In ceaseless flowing streams.

A flower of little consequence
Will yet gladden the gardener’s soul,
Its lowliness is its loveliness,
Beloved, now made whole.
