This site has been created as a resource for a wide variety of voice related interests. Students, actors, educators and the transgender community will find sound samples and study material here that is useful for the development of the voice.

The Dialect Database is comprised of samples of English language dialects as well as English language dialects that have been influenced (accented) by other languages. The samples are designed to assist actors and student actors with dialect acquisition. All samples are recordings of native speakers of the selected dialect.

Its primary function is to supplement the voice and speech curriculum in the Department of Theatre and Dramatic Arts at the University of Lethbridge. Its secondary function is to support research in the area of dialect study and transgender voice training. The director of this website is Doug MacArthur.
Samples and study material presented in this site are available to anyone interested in its content. Sound samples included here are free for individual use on your personal computer.
