  • Student Blog: Janelle DeCoste

I am a 3rd year NESA “fast track” and Neural Psychology student at the University of Lethbridge. During the school year I work through the City of Lethbridge lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons, as well as odd volunteer work through local organizations. Recreational time for me is spent staying active and keeping healthy. Swimming and the gym have been passions of mine for many years, and most recently have come to enjoy yoga as a part of my daily routine. I am an avid reader of numerous genera’s, as well as a “self proclaimed” artist in the privacy of my own home. My scholastic endeavours and accolades at the University will come to a close in December of 2012 will my programme’s completion, and am looking forward to sharing my personal experiences at the U of L!

  • Student Blog: James Forbes

My name is James and I’m a History major at the U of L. Originally from BC, today I’m proud to call Lethbridge home. I enjoy travelling, listening to music, and doodling. I also enjoy reading, which can come in very handy as a student! There’s something incredibly special about the university experience, and I hope my blog can capture a snapshot of what it’s all about. This is my blog… This is our U.

  • Student Blog: Lindsey Meredith

Hey! I’m going into my fourth year of university, but I switched programs partway through, and I just completed a 16-month co-op. So technically, I’m a fourth-year first-first year, if that makes any sense. I started at the U of L as a Biology student and I wanted to tranfer into the Vet program at the University of Saskatchewan, but after taking a pretty broad range of classes in my first two years, I realized I love talking and business. I’m now a Management student majoring in Marketing, but I’m just going into my first year of Management classes. In my spare time, I am also the Captain of the JDC West Lethbridge business case competition team.

  • Student Blog: Basia Filipek

Hi there! My name is Basia Filipek and I’m starting my first year at the University of Lethbridge. I chose this university because I have lived in Lethbridge my whole life and the university is just a short walk from my front door. I love Alberta and Lethbridge will always have a big spot in my heart as my hometown. I have a much older brother who went to the U of L over a decade ago, and now it’s my turn.

As hobbies and activities go I love being outside, reading, music, being with friends and family, practicing yoga and trying to fit it all in around my work schedule.

My plan is to go for my Bachelor of Science with my major in psychology but I’m not sure where I’ll go from there but I’m just going to jump right in and see where the wind takes me. I’m very excited to write and show things in a first year student point of view and hope you find something interesting in my blogs!
