Postdoctoral Fellows

What is a postdoctoral fellow?

Postdoctoral fellows are early career researchers with a completed Ph.D. who are doing their postdoctoral research in association with the CTCE lab. They are carrying out research projects that fall into the subject matter of the lab and participate in lab activities. They are local to the University of Lethbridge.

What are the expectations for a postdoctoral fellow?

Postdoctoral fellows are expected to work on a research project associated with the lab, to participate and initiate in lab-activities, to present during the yearly work-in-progress workshop in October, and to present research outcomes at least once per year. Further expectations may be negotiated before the start of a postdoctoral fellowship.

How do I become a postdoctoral fellow?

Occasionally, research fellows associated with the lab will advertise for specific, funded postdoctoral positions. If this is the case, you will find the posting here, as well as in other typical places like the university jobs-site. If you have a postdoctoral project in mind that you would like to carry out at the University of Lethbridge associated with the lab, contact the appropriate research fellow with your CV and a one-page description of the project (https://sites.ulethbridge.ca/ctce-lab/current-research-fellows/). If we believe that this is a good fit, we will be happy to help you apply for postdoctoral funding, such as a SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship (https://www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca/funding-financement/programs-programmes/fellowships/postdoctoral-postdoctorale-eng.aspx) or a Banting postodctoral fellowship (https://banting.fellowships-bourses.gc.ca/en/home-accueil.html).
