What is this Project About?
Trust and distrust have been topics of interest in political science, economics, organizational leadership, and similar fields for many decades. Though attention has been paid to these topics in philosophy as well, it is only fairly recently that trust and distrust have been attended to explicitly and at length by philosophers. In this literature, a wide range of topics are being explored, from the nature of trust and trustworthiness to when trust or distrust is warranted, and from the role of epistemic trust to the importance of distrust for democratic politics.
