Upcoming Event: Ideas Store Festival

The ULPA is sharing this event on behalf of our colleagues in the Philosophy Department:

The Ideas Store is a festival of ideas and culture, running May 15th to 30th at the Penny Building gallery (324 5th St S) in downtown Lethbridge, put on by the University of Lethbridge Philosophy Department and the Critical Thinking + Civic Engagement Lab.

There will be a bunch of ongoing events and attractions, which you can stop by to check out 9 to 9 every day – our art show, there are rumours afloat of wonderful developments here, a storytelling recording booth, a People’s Pad, a Curiosity Box, philosophy walks, and snacks and personal care items for whoever needs them. There will also be dozens of talks, screenings, performances, workshops, and other events, from a healthy mix of U of L fam and local individuals and organizations – Sage Clan, the LSCO, the Alberta Teachers Association, Antojitos, the Galt Museum + Archives, and many more. There will be sessions devoted to heavier topics like housing, substance abuse, education, and polarization, but also plenty of chill/fun/crafty events, too – tortilla-making, finger weaving, puppetry, dance, Feather Story, etc.

The Ideas Store is 100% free and open to the public.
