Moodle Exams
When setting up Moodle exams, we would like to remind you to check over ALL Moodle exam questions BEFORE the opening date of the exam. Once students attempt the exam, errors in the questions are not easily fixed. By checking over your questions and answers, you can save a lot of stress for you and the students taking the exams.
Things you should be double checking are question content, answer accuracy (especially matching questions – these cannot be fixed after a student attempt has been made), image sizes (they should be no more than 500 pixels wide), and video and audio clips play properly.
It is a good idea to test audio and video clips on another computer, as this will ensure it works on other devices than your own.
If you have an exam that uses random questions that pull from the Question Bank, be sure to check all possible questions that may be generated for students. Also, make sure you have enough questions in the category for the exam to pull from.
If you have any questions on how to best preview your Moodle exams, the Teaching Centre is glad to help.
